Golden Hawks Can’t Quite Erase 5-Run Deficit In Loss To Quakertown

Despite a 5-run deficit in the first inning, the Golden Hawks almost came all the way back, eventually falling 8-7 to Quakertown on Wednesday.


The Golden Hawks scored seven runs in the failed comeback on doubles by Bennett Bobrin and Emilio Pallante in the second, followed by a single by Trey Obarowski. Singles by Ayden Flint and Pat Gannon in the fourth knocked in runs as wellin the fourth.


The Golden Hawks where right in it until Quakertown hit into a fielder’s choice in the fifth inning.

Quakertown took an early lead in the second inning. Mason Hicks drove in one when he singled.

Matt Ciarrocchi got the win for Quakertown. He lasted two innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out one. Dennis Pierce and Ben Eichorn entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Michael Rabayda started the game for Golden Hawks. He went four innings, allowing six runs on nine hits and striking out four. Jake Barder took the loss for the Golden Hawks. He allowed two hits and two runs over two innings, striking out two.


The Golden Hawks tallied 11 hits on the day. Gannon and Pallante each collected multiple hits for the Golden Hawks. Gannon led the Golden Hawks with three hits in four at bats. The Golden Hawks where sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.

Quakertown tallied 11 hits. Adam Ritter, Justin Butler, and Hicks each had multiple hits for Quakertown. Quakertown didn’t commit a single error in the field. Butler had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
