Golden Hawks Grab Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Archbishop Wood

Golden Hawks snagged a late lead and defeated Archbishop Wood 5-3 on Friday. In the bottom of the fifth inning, with two outs, the Golden Hawks tied things up at two when Emilio Pallante tripled to the fence in right field and scored on a wild pitch.

The game was tied at two with  the Golden Hawks batting in the bottom of the sixth when Bubba Wilkinson was hit by a pitch, driving in the a run. The Golden Hawks would score two more in the inning.

Drew LaPolice started the game for the Golden Hawks. He surrendered two run on seven hits over three innings, striking out two and walking zero.   Shane Walter entered the game in the fourth allowed one hit in one innings pitched. Joe Purcell earned the win on two and a two-thirds innings pitched allowing one hit and one run while striking out two. Jon Pinciotti closed out the game allowing zero hits, zero runs and walking zero over one-third of an inning, earning him the save on the hill for Golden Hawks.

Bryce Stock started the game for Archbishop Wood. He allowed two hits and one run over four innings, striking out four and walking zero. Brian Gozdan and Sam Reynolds entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and one inning respectively.

Golden Hawks racked up four hits in the game. Emilio Pallante and Luke Gregory each managed multiple hits for the Golden Hawks.

Archbishop Wood had nine hits in the game. Matt DonchezAntonio Rossillo, and Reynoldseach had multiple hits for Archbishop Wood.
