Late Score Costs Northampton Bombers Junior Legion Against Millcreek – Youth

PA STATE PLAYOFF – GAME 2

Northampton Bombers Junior Legion stayed in it until the end, but Millcreek – Youth pulled away late in a 2-1 victory on Sunday. The game was tied at one with Millcreek – Youth batting in the top of the sixth when Mitch Fiorelli singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Millcreek – Youth pitchers struck out five, while Northampton Bombers Junior Legion sat down nine.

Northampton Bombers Junior Legion got on the board in the first inning when Alex Neeld lined out, driving in a run.

In the top of the second inning, Millcreek – Youth tied things up at one. Luke Natemeier singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

Garret Clark led things off on the mound for Millcreek – Youth. He allowed five hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five.

Dylan Wichterman started the game for Northampton Bombers Junior Legion. He surrendered two runs on five hits over six innings, striking out six and walking one. Joe Purcell threw one inning in relief.

Jack O’Neill led Northampton Bombers Junior Legion with two hits in three at bats.
