Northampton Bombers Junior Legion Overcomes Southampton (2018 JRL) In Face Of Early 3-Run Inning

Despite allowing three runs in the first inning, Northampton Bombers Junior Legion defeated Southampton (2018 JRL) 7-3 on Saturday. Southampton (2018 JRL) big bats were led by Ropars, Healy, and Carelli, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Southampton (2018 JRL) opened up scoring in the first inning, when Ropars drew a walk, scoring one run.
Northampton Bombers Junior Legion pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Matt Serratore doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, Matt Camp’s sac fly scored one run for Northampton Bombers Junior Legion, and Pat Gannon singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Raphael Vogeley got the start for Northampton Bombers Junior Legion. He allowed three runs on zero hits.
Bates started the game for Southampton (2018 JRL). He went three and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on nine hits, striking out four and walking one. Carelli threw three and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Northampton Bombers Junior Legion scattered 12 hits in the game. Alex Cucinotta, Vogeley, and Serratore all managed multiple hits for Northampton Bombers Junior Legion. Serratore, Vogeley, and Cucinotta each collected two hits to lead Northampton Bombers Junior Legion.

Healy went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Southampton (2018 JRL) in hits.
