The Golden Bears completed play on Saturday, outscoring the Spartans in the second half

UPPER MORELAND 60, SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP 39

The Golden Bears – who led 26-20 at halftime when Friday’s game was suspended  – completed play on Saturday, outscoring the Spartans 34-19 in the second half.

“We played great team basketball,” UM coach Sean Feeley said. “It was an odd situation playing half the game Friday and half the game Saturday, but I challenged the guys to come out ready to play and they certainly did.”

Jake Tiernan’s three 3-pointers ignited a 22-5 third quarter that also saw Byron Hopkins contribute six points.

“Jake Tiernan was a spark again with the 3s,” Feeley said. “And Byron Hopkins, Matt Tiernan, Tyler Ibbotson and Jourdan Gregg continue to gel together.

“I thought Jourdon was really good on both ends and was extremely unselfish making the extra pass to open shooters.”

Hopkins led all scorers with 19 points, which included three 3s. Jake Tiernan, Ibbotson and McKie Walker each had nine points. Matt Tiernan added six points.

For the Spartans, Gabe Harris led the way with 16 points – 12 in the final quarter. Ethan Hamilton added eight.

Upper Moreland (14-5, 7-5 SOL) will host Plymouth Whitemarsh Tuesday, and Springfield Township (6-14, 2-10) will be on the road at Cheltenham Tuesday.
