Falcons earned a bounce-back win after Friday’s disappointing loss

PENNSBURY 62, FRANKFORD 52

Sparked by the glittering 29-point effort of Shane Simmons, the Falcons earned a bounce-back win after Friday’s disappointing loss to Council Rock South, opening up an early lead and never looking back.

“It was a much-needed win after a tough loss,” Pennsbury coach Bill Coleman said. “Shane played well again. We are looking to close the regular season strong.”

Kyrie Miller’s six points propelled the Falcons to a 16-11 lead after one quarter. In the second quarter, Simmons went to work, scoring 12 of his team’s 20 points. Collin Connor added a pair of 3s. Pennsbury took a 36-22 lead into halftime.

Simmons buried three 3-pointers in the game, and he was 8-for-9 at the foul line. Miller added 12 points, and Connor had 11.

Pennsbury (9-11, 5-5 SOL) – still on the outside looking in for a berth in the District One 6A Tournament – will host Harry S Truman on Tuesday.
