The visiting Panthers found themselves staring at a 29-22 halftime deficit. They responded with an inspired 37-point second half, limiting the Trojans to just 19 points.
One win separates the Panthers from a share of the conference crown.
“Our starting five really led the way – it was a team effort and win,” Cheltenham coach Patrick Fleury said. “Zahree (Harrison) was there tonight, and that helped. When we got into the locker room, we focused, and we were able to turn a seven-point deficit into a win.
“We have to travel to Hatboro-Horsham on Friday. We didn’t win a championship yet, but we put ourselves in a position to win it.”
Sean Emfinger’s 19 points led the Panthers. He completed his double-double with 10 rebounds to go along with one block and two steals. Justin Moore added 13 points, six steals and three assists. Jaelen McGlone and Brandon Scott both had eight points, and Travis Coleman had seven. McGlone also had 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals. Scott had five rebounds.
Cheltenham (17-2, 11-0 SOL) will travel to Hatboro-Horsham Friday, and Wissahickon (10-9, 8-3) will be on the road at Abington Friday.
