The Redskins trailed after one quarter but outscored the Indians over the next three

NESHAMINY 48, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 39

The Redskins trailed 13-4 after one quarter but outscored the Indians 44-26 over the next three on their way to their third straight win.

“It was a good team win,” Neshaminy coach Mark Tingle said. “We didn’t play well in the first quarter but rallied to get the ‘W.’”

In the opening quarter, Luke Vliet scored six points to spark the Indians. The Redskins came to life offensively in the second quarter. Matt Drapkin had five points and Damon McGovern had four, but they still trailed the Indians by one, 18-17.

“We didn’t come ready to play in the first quarter but snapped out of it in the second,” Tingle said. “We just got more aggressive all over the floor.”

The Redskins outscored the Indians 15-9 in the third quarter to go on top 32-27. Drapkin had seven points and Kyle Saglimben added five for the ‘Skins, who iced the win with a 16-12 fourth quarter that included a perfect 10-for-10 effort at the foul line. Jake McGinty’s 6-for-6 led the Redskins while Drapkin and McGovern both were 2-for-2 and contributed four points in the quarter.

For the game, the Redskins buried 12-of-13 from the foul line.

Drapkin’s 16-point effort, which included a pair of 3s, led all players. He also had four assists.

“He’s playing very well right now,” Tingle said.

McGinty, who was 8-for-8 at the charity stripe, finished with 10 points, and McGovern had eight.

For the Indians, Vliet and Mikey Sylvester led the offense with nine points each.
