Golden Hawks Claims Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Council Rock North


The Golden Hawks stole the lead late in the game in a 7-6 victory over Council Rock North on Saturday. The game was tied at four with the Golden Hawks batting in the top of the fifth when Bennett Bobrin singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Council Rock North scored four runs in the second inning, but the  Golden Hawks still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Council Rock North came thanks to a single by Jason Mela and a double by Nick D’Apolito.

Council Rock North captured the lead in the second inning. Eric Woodhead drew a walk, scoring one run.

In the top of the fourth inning, the Golden Hawks tied things up at four. The Golden Hawks scored one run when Jake Barder singled.

Brett Marino got the start for the Golden Hawks. He surrendered four runs on three hits over one and two-thirds innings, walking one.

Ryan Stalker was on the pitcher’s mound for Council Rock North. He went one inning, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out two and walking zero.


The Golden Hawks collected nine hits on the day. Trey ObarowskiJared Ennis, and Barder all managed multiple hits for the Golden Hawks.

D’Apolito went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Council Rock North in hits.
