Golden Hawks Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Quakertown


The Golden Hawks nabbed the lead late in the game in a 6-5 victory over Quakertown on Tuesday. The game was tied at four with the Golden Hawks batting in the bottom of the fifth when Luke Gregory singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

The Golden Hawks got on the board in the first inning.  Gregory grounded out, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Golden Hawks tied things up at four. Golden Hawks scored one run when Bubba Wilkinson singled.


The Golden Hawks tallied three runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by the Golden Hawks was led by GregoryJared Ennis, and Wilkinson, who all drove in runs.

Jake Barder got the start for the Golden Hawks. He surrendered four runs on five hits over three and a third innings, striking out three. Joe Purcell came in relief and threw three and two third innings, allowing one run and striking out five.

Cody Barberio was on the pitcher’s mound for Quakertown. He allowed six hits and four runs over four innings, striking out three and walking zero. Sam Rice threw two innings out of the bullpen.

Golden Hawks had nine hits in the game. Trey ObarowskiEnnis, and Gregory each managed multiple hits for Golden Hawks.

Quakertown tallied nine hits. Justin Butler and Adam Ritter all collected multiple hits for Quakertown. Butler went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Quakertown in hits. Quakertown was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Butler made the most plays with eight.
