Northampton Bombers Junior Legion took their game in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off single at the end of the game to topple Downingtown. Northampton Bombers Junior Legion was down 8-7 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Jonathon Pinciotti singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.
Northampton Bombers Junior Legion earned the victory despite allowing Downingtown to score six runs in the fourth inning. Jackson Janik, Joe Boccio, Drew Scott, and Trey Luminella all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Dylan Wichterman led things off on the mound for Northampton Bombers Junior Legion. He allowed six hits and two runs over two and a third innings, striking out two.
Boccio toed the rubber for Downingtown. He allowed 11 hits and five runs over five and a third innings, striking out three. Shane Burgette and Luminella entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two-thirds of an inning and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
Northampton Bombers Junior Legion tallied 13 hits in the game. Joe Purcell, Jack O’Neill, Matt Serratore, and Pinciotti each racked up multiple hits for Northampton Bombers Junior Legion. O’Neill and Purcell each managed three hits to lead Northampton Bombers Junior Legion.
Downingtown racked up eight hits on the day. John Nielson and Scott each managed multiple hits for Downingtown. Nielson led Downingtown with three hits in four at bats.
